Hiring Role: Respite Provider
Location: Fort St. John
Level of Supports: Various
We are seeking a respite provider to deliver floating respite services for home sharing providers in Fort St. John. You will support individuals as needed, providing short term relief or coverage for their home sharing provider. Support needs and key responsibilities vary based on each individual’s goals, routines, and level of support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities
- Ability to adapt to different routines, and support needs
- Experience supporting daily living tasks such as meal preparation, personal care, and routines
- Strong communication skills, including supporting non verbal communication when needed
- Understanding of safety, boundaries, and professional practice in a home setting
- Ability to work independently and respond to changing support requests
- Knowledge of person-centred support and respecting individual choice
Requirements
- Minimum of 19 years of age
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Satisfactory home study
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- First aid / CPR certificate
- Driver’s License
- Satisfactory health confirmed by doctor
