About the Individual
This individual is funded on GSA level 4b. He is verbal. He does not hold a conversation, but is able to express some of his needs and reply to simple questions. He attends the day program 5 days per week from 8:30am – 3pm. He enjoys playing basketball and swimming. He enjoys being part of social activities at home. He has been part of the north shore community all of his life and has lived in home sharing homes for many years. His mother is aging and continues to be involved as his representative.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including support with bathing
- Assist with dressing
- Support the individual to attend his day program and take part in activities in the wider community
- Administer medication three times per day.
- Respond calmly and consistently to changes in the individual’s emotion and support needs related to his diagnosis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health-related needs
- Experience providing higher levels of personal care, including bathing support
- Ability to set and maintain clear, consistent, and respectful boundaries
Requirements
- Minimum of 19 years of age
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Satisfactory home study
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- First aid / CPR certificate
- Driver’s License
- Satisfactory health confirmed by doctor
