The People Behind
At HSSSBC, our dedicated team works to support home sharing providers, individuals, and families across British Columbia. With a shared commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and community-driven solutions, we strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
is the Executive Director of the newly formed Home Sharing Support Society BC. She has over 30 years experience in the disability sector. She is a proven leader in her field bringing fresh approaches to complex challenges. She is an accomplished governance advisor specializing in policy & bylaw development, supporting organizations with business analysis, operational design and implementation of large scale projects. In her free time you will find her “among the vines” learning about wine. She is a proud BC Wine Ambassador and happily shares what she learns with family and friends over the kitchen table with food and wine.
Kiki Yiu (she/her) is the HSSSBC’s PR, Marketing & Communication Specialist. She is originally from Hong Kong and spent 3 years in New Zealand for her Master’s degree in Business and Management. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication. She has proven experience in SEO, marketing campaign planning and management, and social media marketing in both business and NGO sectors.
In her free time, you are likely to find her playing golf, cooking, and reading books. She has a strong interest in literature and history, and is a Guqin player (an ancient Chinese instrument with over 3,000 years of history). She finds joy in traveling, socializing with people, and learning about cultures around the world.
Bohdan Danylov (he/him) is the HSSSBC’s Executive Assistant. With a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, he brings expert knowledge to our team. He has several years of experience keeping things organized & running like clockwork. Known for his calm efficiency and behind-the-scenes magic, he’s the go-to person for making things happen.
Outside of work, Bohdan is all about adventure — he loves hitting the golf course, skiing, hiking, kayaking, and, when it’s time to unwind, building awesome LEGO creations. He brings positive energy and a can-do attitude to everything he does!
Guiding the Future of Home Sharing
Our Board of Directors brings together passionate advocates, community leaders, and professionals who guide HSSSBC’s mission and strategic vision. Their leadership ensures our work remains inclusive, ethical, and impactful.
Arlene has extensive experience both personally and professionally in the community living sector serving on a number of non-profit boards for the last 40 years. Arlene has been a member of the joint CLBC/Inclusion BC inclusive housing task force; she is a Family Support Institute resource parent and has led a number of community-based projects. Arlene is the proud mother of a son who lives in home share and is dedicated to finding and supporting long-term housing solutions. Arlene looks forward to bringing her passion, commitment, and experience to the board to collaboratively supporting home sharing in B.C.
Reba is a wife and mother of two young men and the chosen family of an incredible person through a home shared relationship for over fifteen years. Reba is the Associate Director for Recruitment and Learner Engagement and Institutional Lead for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Vancouver Community College. She also has a long history of advocating for equality as a labour rights activist. Reba was a board member for CUPE Local 15 and currently serves on the board for Community Living Society. Never backing away from a challenge, Reba is ready to represent the new society in supporting equity, diversity, inclusion and the betterment of home sharing.
Julya has many years of experience in home sharing both as a representative on CLBC’s Home Share Working Group and as someone who lives in a home share. Julya believes every individual and person has a voice and if the community is fully together, they can unite as one service without misunderstanding. Julya will bring her personal experience and dedication to strengthening home share to the board and she looks forward to making sure that those entering into home sharing feel supported, celebrated and have their needs met.
Jaret has worked in the community living field for 19 years. He is the Director of Community Services with Milieu Family Services. Jaret is an active member in various community groups such as the Fleetwood BIA (Business Improvement Association) as the accessible expert, serves as a board member of the Community Council Surrey / Delta / White Rock, and is involved in local self-advocacy groups. Jaret devoted the housing and outreach services and works with the current home share services all within Milieu Family Services. He is looking forward to moving forward with the goals of the committee and increasing awareness and development.
Clay Little is of Mohawk and Scottish ancestry. He is originally from Brantford, Ontario, which lies on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee and the Neutral peoples. Clay is passionate about supporting Indigenous learners and has been building community relationships in British Columbia for over two decades. Clay holds an advanced diploma in Child and Youth Work from Humber College and continued his studies at the University of Victoria. In his most recent role as Associate Director, Indigenous Educations and Community Engagement at VCC, Clay leads students, faculty, and communities in Indigenizing the academy. Clay uses a holistic approach anchored in reciprocity to foster community relationships and promote student success.
Astrid Koenig brings over 48 years of experience in the community living field, working with children, youth, and adults across both Alberta and British Columbia. Throughout her extensive career, she has gained comprehensive experience in all areas of community living, progressing from frontline roles to senior leadership positions within both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She also has 12 years of experience as a foster parent and later as a home share provider for two First Nations individuals with diverse abilities in Alberta.
Astrid currently serves as the Director of Building Bridges Community Support on Vancouver Island. The organization provides a wide range of services, including community inclusion, outreach, respite, employment support, skill development, child and youth services for individuals with autism, and home share coordination. Although she holds a leadership role, her greatest passion remains direct support and frontline engagement.
In addition to her professional experience, Astrid has dedicated time to volunteering on non-profit and community boards, advocating for meaningful inclusion and ensuring that individuals with diverse abilities have the opportunity to fully participate in their communities.
Michelle Fritsche serves as the Director of Shared Living at Okanagan Inclusion in Penticton, British Columbia.
She brings over 25 years experience in the community living sector and previously served as a long-standing Home Share Provider, offering valuable first hand perspective to her leadership.
Michelle is grounded in inclusive, person-centred practice and is dedicated to promoting dignity, choice, and meaningful community inclusion while empowering the individuals and families she supports to live connected fulfilling lives.
She was a member of the provincial reference group that developed the Home Share Coordinator Handbook, helping shape best practices across British Columbia.
Michelle joined the board of directors to bring her experience and passion for shared living, contribute her leadership and sector knowledge, and demonstrate her commitment to good governance, while supporting inclusive, high-quality, and sustainable shared living across the province.
Governance
The HSSSBC Board of Directors follows established bylaws to ensure transparency, ethical decision-making, and strong leadership in supporting the home sharing community.
