Emergency Preparedness for Persons with Disabilities
The City of Ottawa recently hosted an information session on emergency preparedness for persons with disabilities.
Watch the recording on the City of Ottawa’s YouTube channel to learn about:
- key emergency preparedness considerations and resources,
- social connections and personal support,
- planning for assistive devices, including back-up options during a power outage,
- considerations for health management, including medication supply,
- considerations for sheltering in place or evacuating, such as providing emergency contacts with extra keys to access your home, and
- emergency kit and/or go bag considerations, including supplies for pets and service animals.
