The Board of Directors for the Home Sharing Support Society BC have backgrounds and a passion for home sharing. Board members are from rural and urban areas of the province and include family members, home sharing providers, Indigenous leaders, people living in home sharing and a service providers.
The Board of Directors will set the new society’s strategic plan, vision, mission and values in line with the society’s role as identified by a taskforce last fall. They will create bylaws and make strategic decisions to complement and support coordinating agencies, home sharing providers and supported individuals and their families.

Julya Hutton (Vice Chair)
Julya has many years of experience in home sharing both as a representative on CLBC’s Home Share Working Group and as someone who lives in a home share. Julya believes every individual and person has a voice and if the community is fully together, they can unite as one service without misunderstanding. Julya will bring her personal experience and dedication to
strengthening home share to the board and she looks forward to making sure that those entering into home sharing feel supported, celebrated and have their needs met.
Sarb Mahli (Treasurer)
Sarb has been a home sharing provider since 2014 and has more than thirty years of experience working and advocating in the Community Living field both in the U.K. and Canada. Sarb has worked the frontlines of the Community Living sector, in management, residential care, life skills and skill development programs. She is a volunteer parent with the Family Support Institute and will bring her insight of the challenges in home sharing to the Board. Sarb is looking forward to finding ways to develop realistic and sustainable solutions including building trust and support of the home share model.
Reba Noel (Co-Chair)
Reba is a wife and mother of two young men and the chosen family of an incredible person through a home share relationship for over fifteen years. Reba is the Associate Director for Recruitment and Learner Engagement and Institutional Lead for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Vancouver Community College. She also has a long history of advocating for equality as a labour rights activist. Reba was a board member for CUPE Local 15 and currently serves on the board for Community Living Society. Never backing away from a challenge, Reba is ready to represent the new society in supporting equity, diversity, inclusion and the betterment of home sharing.
Ted Nordio
Ted has served on several Community Advisor Boards providing responsible membership for a variety of critical important roles and has years of experience in home sharing with a young Indigenous man currently residing in his home. Ted also has extensive experience working with Indigenous communities, writing and analyzing Indigenous social histories in support of
community connections. Ted has spent the past 22 years working with the federal government as Indigenous Community Liaison Officer with Correctional Service of Canada. Ted looks forward to bringing his experience as a home sharing provider to the board to better support each person in their home sharing.
Brianna Otto
Brianna works as a senior home sharing manager with a qualified home sharing agency. Brianna’s many years of experience has provided her with a wealth of knowledge in supporting individuals, home sharing providers and families to find and maintain suitable home sharing arrangements and live inclusively in their community. Brianna looks forward to her role on the
board and finding creative and innovative ways to grow and support home sharing so it continues to be an inclusive, supportive and valuable service for everyone.
Bernadette Pughe
For over 30 years Bernadette has traveled down a different life path, one that gifted her with the birth of a child who experiences developmental disabilities and has been living in a home share for more than 18 years. Bernadette is committed to the community living philosophy, has been in leadership positions for the past 15 years including being the current chair of CLBC’s
Surrey, Delta White Rock Community Council and working for a non-profit organization that provides meaningful and sustainable employment to individuals who experience barriers. Bernadette is deeply honoured to have been chosen to represent furthering the goals of community inclusion as a board member of the new home sharing society.
Arlene Zuckernick (Co-Chair)
Arlene has extensive experience both personally and professionally in the community living sector serving on a number of non-profit boards for the last 40 years. Arlene has been a member of the joint CLBC/Inclusion BC inclusive housing task force; she is a Family Support Institute resource parent and has led a number of community-based projects. Arlene is the proud mother of a son who lives in home share and is dedicated to finding and supporting
long-term housing solutions. Arlene looks forward to bringing her passion, commitment, and experience to the board to collaboratively supporting home sharing in B.C.
Jaret St Andrassy (Director)
Jaret has worked in the community living field for 19 years. He is the Director of Community Services with Milieu Family Services. Jaret is an active member in various community groups such as the Fleetwood BIA (Business Improvement Association) as the accessible expert, serves as a board member of the Community Council Surrey / Delta / White Rock, and is involved in local self-advocacy groups. Jaret devoted the housing and outreach services and works with the current home share services all within Milieu Family Services. He is looking forward to moving forward with the goals of the committee and increasing awareness and development.
