Purpose of Society

To enhance and support the sustainability and quality of home sharing, and other housing innovations and options, that serve adults with developmental disabilities throughout British Columbia including:

Promoting a person-centered focus as outlined in article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities;

Conducting research and promoting collaboration, networking, and problem-solving among stakeholders to address issues and identify improvements;

Providing information and support to stakeholders and the general public;

Promoting, supporting and delivering training for stakeholders;

Increasing public awareness of home sharing and other innovative housing options;

Acknowledging and advancing cultural safety;

Engaging in other activities that help support the housing options
